Aligned: The Couples Workshop

The same fight. The growing distance. Too much to carry.

Stop guessing what your relationship needs.Find it — then work on it together.

Aligned is an 8-week couples workshop that starts with a personalized Relationship Audit to identify where your relationship needs the most attention — then guides you through a structured 8-week workshop focused on that area.About an hour a week. Together. On your own couch.

Built by Jon Dillow, MA — relationship coach for 20+ years. Chemical engineer before that. It shows.

You already know something's off. You've known for a while.

Maybe it's the fightThe one that changes costumes but never actually changes.Money this week, the kids next week, the tone of a text after that. You've had it so many times you could both perform each other's lines.Maybe it's the quiet. No fights in years — also no real conversations. Two synchronized calendars. Two phones on the same couch.Somewhere along the way you became excellent co-managers of a household... and stopped being the other thing.Maybe it's the load. There's simply too much to carry — work, kids, appointments, meals, chores, planning, remembering, and a hundred things nobody puts on a list. You may both be carrying more than the other person realizes. And somewhere along the way, you've started running out of room to rest, take care of yourselves, or have much left to give to each other.Maybe it's the distance between you physically. You both want to feel close — but you don't always experience closeness the same way.One of you may be thinking, “We barely touch or have sex anymore.”While the other is thinking, “I need to feel emotionally connected before I want physical intimacy.”You've talked about it. Maybe you've fought about it.Maybe you've mostly stopped talking about it because every conversation seems to leave one of you feeling rejected and the other feeling pressured.Different problems. Same underneath:You know something isn't working. You just don't know what to work on first — and nothing you've tried has held. You've read the books. Followed the therapists on Instagram. You can name your attachment style and your love language. You have insight coming out of your ears.Insight was never the problem.

Here's why knowing what to do hasn't been enough.

There are two reasons.First: the skills you need most are hardest to use when you're upset. You can know you're supposed to listen, stay curious, soften your tone, and not get defensive. Then the argument starts.Your heart rate climbs. Your body goes on alert. And suddenly the thoughtful version of you who read all those relationship books is nowhere to be found. It's like trying to drive a car while the engine is on fire.More driving lessons aren't the first thing you need. You need to learn how to put out the fire.Second: understanding a pattern isn't the same as changing it.A book can give you a lightbulb moment.A Reel can make you feel completely seen for ninety seconds. And the same pattern can still show up again next Tuesday.Because insight is only the beginning.Change takes practice — the right skills, in the right order, practiced by both of you where your relationship actually happens.Your living room. Not another feed. That's the idea Aligned is built around:Don't just understand the pattern. Practice changing it together.

You don't need to work on everything. You need to know where to start.

That's why Aligned doesn't give every couple the same program.STEP 1: START WITH THE RELATIONSHIP AUDITYou and your partner each complete the Audit privately and honestly. It looks across the major areas of your relationship — including connection, communication, conflict, intimacy, trust, shared priorities, and how you manage life together. Then I personally review your results. You'll receive a report showing:🟢 Where you're strong — the parts of your relationship that are working and worth protecting.🟡 Where there's strain — areas that deserve attention before they become bigger problems.🔴 Where to focus first — the pattern that appears to be creating the most friction or distance right now.The goal isn't to give your relationship a grade. It's to answer a much more useful question:What should we actually work on first?STEP 2: FOCUS ON THE RIGHT WORKBased on what we learn from your Audit, you'll be guided toward the 8-week workshop that best fits what your relationship needs right now:Conflict
For couples caught in recurring arguments, defensiveness, escalation, or shutdown.
Reconnection
For couples who care about each other but have slowly become distant, disconnected, or more like roommates.
Household Load
For couples overwhelmed by everything life requires who want a fairer, more sustainable way to carry the load together.
Intimacy
For couples who want to feel closer but differ in how they experience or pursue emotional and physical connection.
You don't work on all four. You work on the one that matters most right now.STEP 3: WORK THROUGH IT TOGETHER FOR EIGHT WEEKSEach week gives you specific things to practice — not just things to read. There are short exercises during the week and one deeper session for the two of you to do together. Most couples should plan on about an hour a week. And the order matters. The early work builds the foundation and skills you'll need before you tackle the harder conversations. Then, week by week, you practice using those skills on the patterns that actually show up in your relationship.By the end of eight weeks, the goal isn't for you to need Aligned forever. It's for you to leave with tools, agreements, and a clearer way of handling this part of your relationship together.Ready to work on the right thing together?I'm opening Aligned first to a founding cohort of just 50 couples.Founding couples will receive the complete Relationship Audit and their matched 8-week workshop for $99 total — 50% off the $199 regular price.

$99 total. One payment. No subscription.
Limited to 50 founding couples

Built for two people facing each other — not two people staring at screens.

Aligned is an app.But the app isn't where the relationship work happens. It happens between the two of you.The app gives you the structure: what to do, when to do it, and how to have conversations that might otherwise be difficult to start. Some exercises you'll complete privately first. Then Aligned brings your answers together and gives you a structured way to talk about where you agree — and where you see things differently.Other exercises are designed to be done together from the beginning.Either way, the goal is the same:Less time consuming relationship content. More time actually working on your relationship. The phone provides the structure. The two of you do the work.

If your partner sent you this page — read this part.

I know what you might be bracing for.An ambush.Eight weeks of being told you're the problem.A lot of feelings homework you never asked for.Fair.So let me say this plainly:Aligned isn't built on the assumption that either one of you is the problem. It's built on the assumption that the two of you may be caught in a pattern — and changing that pattern takes both of you.You won't be asked to sit around talking about your feelings for eight weeks. You'll be given specific things to do, conversations to have, and skills to practice together. And the hard stuff doesn't come first. The early weeks intentionally build the tools you'll need before you tackle more difficult conversations. The ask is also bounded: about an hour a week for eight weeks. There's a beginning. There's an end.And you do it at home, on your own schedule. You don't have to be excited about relationship work. You don't even have to be convinced Aligned is going to help. You just have to be willing to give it an honest try.And one more thing. If your partner sent you this page, try not to hear:"You're the problem."There's another possibility:"I still care about us, and I'd like us to try something together."You don't have to say yes.But give them a real answer.

I'd rather lose the sale than sell you the wrong thing.

ALIGNED IS PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU IF:🎴 You're mainly looking for date-night ideas or conversation starters.
There are plenty of good tools for that. Aligned asks more of you than that.
🚪 One of you has completely checked out.
Skeptical is okay. Reluctant is okay. But both of you have to be willing to participate.

The app provides the structure. You provide the effort. There is no version of Aligned where you watch a few videos and your relationship changes on its own.

20+ years working with couples. And an engineer's obsession with how things work.

Before I got my counseling degree, I was a chemical engineering.Which probably explains something about the way I've approached relationships for the past 20+ years.I'm always looking for the pattern underneath the problem. What keeps producing the same result?Where does the system break down? And what needs to change for something different to happen? After thousands of hours sitting across from couples, I kept seeing the same frustrating gap:Most couples don't lack information. They lack a clear way to turn what they know into something they can actually practice together. That's why I built Aligned. It brings together what I've learned from more than two decades of working with couples with the structured, step-by-step approach that has always made sense to me.First, understand what's happening. Then identify where to focus. Then practice the right skills in the right order. Not because relationships are machines. They're not.But because when you're stuck in the same pattern over and over, structure can help you find a different way through it.— Jon Dillow, MA

FAQ

"What if we're too far gone?"

Sometimes a relationship needs more support than Aligned is designed to provide. If you're dealing with an active crisis, ongoing abuse, serious trauma, an active affair or betrayal crisis, or concerns about safety, Aligned isn't the right first step. Please seek appropriate professional support. But feeling hopeless doesn't always mean a relationship is finished.Sometimes it means you're exhausted from having the same conversations, trying things that haven't stuck, and not knowing what else to do.Aligned is designed for couples who are stuck — but still willing to show up and work on the relationship together.

"What if my partner starts strong and quits?"

You don't need two people who are equally excited about doing relationship work. The early weeks are intentionally approachable so you can build some momentum before getting into harder conversations. But Aligned does require participation from both of you.The app can provide the structure, exercises, and reminders. It can't make someone participate who has decided they don't want to.That's why I make this distinction throughout the page:Skeptical is okay. Reluctant is okay. Unwilling isn't.If both of you are willing to give the eight weeks an honest try, that's enough to start.

"Why not just do couples therapy?"

Maybe you should.Aligned isn't meant to replace couples therapy when individualized professional care is what your relationship needs. But not every couple looking for help is in crisis. Some couples are stuck in a pattern and need a structured way to understand it, practice different skills, and work on it together at home. That's what Aligned is designed for.And if you're already working with a couples therapist, Aligned may give you useful structure and practice between sessions. You can even show your therapist what you're working on.

"How much time, really?"

Plan on about an hour a week. Most weeks include a few short exercises — some individual, some together — plus one deeper session you'll schedule when it works for both of you.And life happens. If you have a vacation coming up, a crazy week at work, sick kids, or simply can't make time for Aligned one week, pause. When you're ready, pick up right where you left off. There are eight weeks of work inside Aligned, but they don't have to happen in eight consecutive weeks. The goal is to do the work — not race through it.

Do both of us need to participate?

Yes.Aligned is built for couples to work through together. You'll each have opportunities to answer privately, and you'll also complete exercises and conversations together. You don't have to be equally enthusiastic. But you both need to be willing to participate.

"Do we need to be tech people?"

No.If you can use a smartphone, you can use Aligned. The app walks you through what to do at each step. The technology provides the structure. The important part happens between the two of you.

"What if something heavy comes up?"

Sometimes relationship work brings up something bigger than you expected.Aligned will help you recognize when an issue may need more support than an app-based workshop can provide. If that happens, pause the exercise and seek appropriate professional help rather than trying to push through it just because the program says to keep going.Aligned has limits, and I'm intentionally honest about them.Knowing when you need more support is part of taking your relationship seriously.

Is Aligned religious?

No.Aligned isn't a religious program and doesn't ask couples to adopt a particular faith or belief system. The exercises are built around established relationship principles such as emotional regulation, communication, repair, connection, and shared responsibility.Couples of any faith — or no faith — can use Aligned without having a particular worldview imposed on them.

What happens after the eight weeks?

You're done.Aligned isn't designed to keep you dependent on an app forever. The goal is for you to finish the eight weeks with new skills, clearer agreements, and a practical way of handling this part of your relationship together. As a founding couple, you'll keep access to the workshop you've completed so you can return to the tools when you need them. The goal isn't to keep you in Aligned. It's to help you take what you practiced back into your relationship.

"What's your refund policy?"

Your purchase is covered by the 30-Day Try-It Guarantee.Complete your Relationship Audit, start your matched workshop, and give the first two weeks an honest try together. If both partners complete the Week 1 and Week 2 exercises and you decide Aligned isn't right for you, email me within 30 days of your purchase and I'll refund your $99.No hoops. No arguing your case.

"What happens after I purchase?"

After you purchase, download Aligned: The Couples Workshop and create your account using the same email address you used at checkout. You'll then be prompted to invite your partner using their email address. They'll receive an invitation to create their own account, and Aligned will connect the two of you as a couple. For the founding cohort, I'm personally verifying purchases and activating access, so please allow up to 12 hours for full access to be unlocked. In most cases, it will be much sooner.

A month from now, you'll be four weeks into something — or four more weeks into the same pattern.

You've probably been thinking about the thing that brought you to this page for longer than eight weeks. The fight. The distance. The resentment. The intimacy that's become difficult to talk about. You know something needs attention. The question is what you do next. You could read another book. Save another Reel. Promise each other you'll try harder.Maybe some of that will help.Or you could spend the next eight weeks doing something structured together. Not trying to fix your entire relationship. Not trying to become a different couple.Just identifying where you need to focus — and practicing a different way of handling it together. That's what Aligned is for.The founding cohort is now open to the first 50 couples at a founding price of $99 — 50% off the planned $199 regular price. In return, I'm asking founding couples to complete the program and give me honest feedback so I can make Aligned better. You don't have to decide that your relationship is broken. You just have to decide whether there's something between the two of you that's worth giving eight weeks of intentional attention. If there is, I'd love to have you in the founding cohort.
